Sincerity or ikhlas, is a central concept in Islam---aand one well represented in both the Quran and Sunnah. Simply stated, is is the purification of the heart from all motives save the pleasure of Allah.Being sincere involves attaining faith the way Allah wants us to., which entails sincerity in faith, intention, and fear of Allah's punishment.

Sincerity in Religion:

The closer meaning of the term nasihah is sincerity. That means that the entire religion in encompassed by the concept of sincerity.The Prophet stated in the hadith that nasihah should be given to five categories: to Allah, His Book, His Messenger, to the leaders of the Muslims and to the common people.

Concept of sincere:

Sincere, wholehearted, heartfelt, hearty, unfeigned mean genuine in feeling. Sincere stresses absence of hypocrisy, feigning or any falsifying embellishment or exaggeration. a sincere and earnest devotion without without reservation or misgiving.

Different types of Sincerity:

Philosopher vladimir Jankelevitch distinguished between "three kinds of sincerity: concordance of thought and speech(or thought and action), concordance of thought and self."( The Virtues of Love, I) There is therefore a difference between  sincere and speaking the truth.
